The results are in, and for the second year in a row, Great South Bay Brewery has been voted the Second Best Craft Beer Brewery on Long Island by the readers of Long Island Press! There are some amazing breweries on Long Island these days and we are honored that so many people voted for us. Thank you to all of you that voted for us and for the continued support of GSB. Big things are coming your way from the bay in 2013! Cheers to you from all of us here at Great South Bay Brewery.
CONCRETE WORK HAS BEGUN

The brewery is alive with the sound of jackhammers and wet saws! Today we start full blown construction of our brewery floor here at the new GSB here at 25 Drexel Drive in Bay Shore. If you are not familiar with brewery floors, here's a little inside info for you. Brewery floors get very (very very very) wet. We are installing floor drains into the floor to make sure everything flows out to our septic system. The floor is pitched in order to make sure all liquids are directed to the aforementioned drains. Since the building is so large, we are actually putting our floor on top of the existing floor and forming curbs and ramps for our brewers to easily move the fork lift and other things up into the brewing area. Look what we got! Our Della Toffola DE Filter has arrived! This beauty used to belong to the wonderful brewers of Souther Tier Brewing in Upstate NY and now it's ours! According to our Head Brewer Greg Maisch, this is what they call the Cadillac of Filters! We are excited to get it up and running to bring you beautifully clear beers!

GSB Makes a Splash at North Fork Beer Fest
Monday, August 22, 2011 - On August 13th, we took part in the 5th Annual North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ, and Wine Festival at Martha Clara Vineyard. In honor of the 5th anniversary of the festival we thought it would be fun to do timed tappings at our tent. We released GSB Lager, Imperial Blonde, and Starfish Junction Blood Orange Wheat. The tent was a buzz of energy all day. We had a great time and we're eagerly awaiting next years festival.
